To date over £16M has been invested into London Ashford Airport (Lydd) by the new owners, and significant improvements have been made including a newly re-surfaced grooved runway and lighting, a new 13 acre Bravo apron, upgraded ATC and instillation of ILS in August 2005.

In August 2005, the UK Civil Aviation Authority officially approved the newly upgraded Air Traffic Control system, which considerably enhances the monitoring and control of flight movements around the airport.
Safety & Security: Up to Cat 6 RFFS (fire).
The airport’s security systems and passenger handling facilities have been upgraded for NASP compliance.
The Aerodrome Fire Service has been steadily improved and the airport now has two major foam tenders and two rapid intervention vehicles giving equipment capability able to handle Category 6 or 7 aircraft.
The fire crew is on a continuous program of courses that have been upgrading its fire-fighting skills to match equipment capability.
Hangarage: The T2 building has
been totally refurbished, allowing up to BAe146 access.
Cargo Facilities: Capacity 20,000 tonnes (44,092,000lbs), Transit Zone, Free Port/Foreign Trade Zone.
Environment & Noise: Noise abatement procedures in place.
Aircraft Maintenance: As an established fixed base operation, LAA has JAR 145 engineering facilities in addition to Jet and Avgas fuelling facilities, hangarage, passenger and aircraft handling.
